Booster Club Committees:

Band Camp:

This committee is responsible for collecting all papers and money. They also coordinate and serve drinks and snacks to the band during the two weeks of band camp. Several people are needed to donate snacks/drinks, and volunteers are needed to fill water jugs each morning and/or afternoon.

Uniforms:

Volunteers are needed to help prepare uniforms for cleaning during mini-camp in June, to help measure and assign uniforms during camp in August, and to sew alterations as needed.

This committee is also responsible for all routine maintenance to the band uniforms. In August, all band members are measured and fitted for a complete uniform. The uniforms are sent to the dry cleaners as necessary. Upon their return, the committee is responsible for matching the correct pieces so each student will again have a complete uniform. It is the student’s responsibility to bring to the attention of the committee any loose buttons, open seams, etc.

Band Front:

This committee is extremely important to the success of our field show. Volunteers are needed to cut flags from patterns, sew flags, and organize flags in the storage closet after they are used in Fall and Winter. Even if you can’t sew, this committee can still use your help!

Band Blitz

On the last day of Band Camp in August, 20 volunteers are needed to drive students to neighborhoods to collect door-to-door monetary donations. The chairperson divides district neighborhoods among volunteer drivers to create an organized, efficient event.

Pool Party:

On the last Friday of band camp, the entire band and staff head out to the Leola Pool for a fun-filled evening of swimming, volleyball, basketball, refreshments and socializing. Volunteers are needed to coordinate the party in August (schedule Leola pool, order food and drinks) and to chaperone

Publicity:

Act as liaison between the band and the district’s publicity person to relay noteworthy news items and fundraising events for publication.

Equipment:

This committee is extremely important to the success of our field show at football games and competitions. We have a fixed amount of time to get onto the field and set up and we also have a fixed amount of time to get off the field once the show is complete. This committee is open to both men and women. Some responsibilities of this committee are to load the equipment trailer at the school, unload the trailer at the football game/competition. Once the football game/competition is complete, the trailer is loaded again, and then unloaded upon return to the CVHS. Some construction of props could be possible for those so inclined and talented.

Chaperones:

Chaperones are needed for all away games, competitions/championships and parades. The chairperson will:
* Assign bus chaperones for all band competitions, away football games, parades, and special events that requires bus transportation
* Maintain a schedule that clearly shows the chaperones to be accompanying the band to a said event on a said day. Cancellations or replacements should be dealt with as needed.
*Make known that chaperones may be responsible for the physical well being of band members, which includes transporting medical permission slips and first aid kit.

Concessions & Provisions:

Concessions:
The Booster Club runs a Pizza Concession Stand during all home football games. Volunteers are needed to man the stand for a quarter during a game(s). Help is needed to set up the stand before games, and to tear down the stand following games.

The band booster club hosts an information table during home football games where we offer fan buttons, candy, etc. for sale, as well as advance tickets for band competitions. This committee will coordinate volunteers to sit at the table each game as well as purchase/donate the candy and any other items that will be sold. All volunteers should be at the stadium approximately 30 minutes prior to the game in order to set up the table and merchandise.

Away Provisions:

The chairperson(s)will: Detail and make available provisions for away events (water, apples, hot chocolate, etc.)
