1. No band member (student) should be in the trailer during the loading and unloading. Students inside the trailer create additional congestion that slows the process.
2. No harnesses, guard flags, or other equipment should be leaned against the trailer. These items get bumped and often fall to the ground and can scratch the trailer finish while sliding across the side panels.
3. All instrument cases, drum cases, harnesses, guard bags, small pit percussion equipment, and other small items are loaded via the side door of the trailer and not the rear door. This clears the ramp area for loading the carts, podium, tractor, and other large items.
4. When the trailer is to be loaded for travel, all instruments and equipment to be loaded into the trailer need to be placed by the side door of the trailer. On competition days, instruments and equipment must be beside the trailer before breaking for the meal. This allows the pit crew to load the trailer and prepare for travel without unnecessary delays.
